Medicare Advantage dental

Medicare Advantage dental is dental coverage some Medicare Advantage plans offer as an added benefit. Original Medicare does not cover routine dental care.

Original Medicare covers little dental care. Medicare.gov says in most cases it does not cover services like routine cleanings, fillings, tooth extractions, or items like dentures and implants. It may pay for certain dental services tied to a covered medical treatment.

Medicare Advantage plans (Part C) are offered by private companies. CMS says some of these plans may cover and pay for routine and other dental services as an added benefit. What is covered, the network, and the limits differ from plan to plan. Look for a maximum and whether a dentist is in network.

Read the plan's benefit summary, as of October 2026. For senior care, see senior dentistry. The insurance and financing page has this office's information.
