Interdental brush
An interdental brush is a tiny brush on a small handle that cleans between teeth. Some people find it easier than string floss.
An interdental brush looks like a small bottle brush. You slide it into the space between two teeth and move it gently. It is one of several tools for cleaning between teeth. The ADA lists dental floss, interdental brushes, water flossers, and picks as options.
The ADA notes that interdental cleaning helps remove plaque that collects between two teeth and reduces the chance of gum disease and tooth decay. MouthHealthy says dental picks and tiny brushes can be good for reaching out-of-the-way spots. Choose a size that fits the space without forcing it.
If you are not sure which tool fits your teeth, ask your dentist or hygienist. They can show you. See flossing, water flossers, and oral hygiene. A teeth cleaning visit is a good time to ask.
