Dental home
A dental home is the ongoing relationship between a patient and a dental office that provides regular, complete, and coordinated oral health care.
A dental home is an ongoing relationship between you and a dental office that handles your regular and urgent oral health care. Having one means you know where to go for checkups, for questions, and for an urgent problem. The idea is most often used for children. The ADA says the first dental visit establishes a home base for your child's dental health needs, and should take place after the first tooth appears but no later than the first birthday. Early visits let the dentist spot problems early and teach parents how to care for baby teeth. Adults benefit from a dental home, too.
