Implants

All-on-4 (full-arch implants)

All-on-4 is a name for a plan that supports a full arch of replacement teeth on four dental implants, with the back implants set at an angle.

An arch is the full upper or lower row of teeth. In the All-on-4 plan, four implants are placed in the jaw, and a fixed set of replacement teeth is attached to them. The back two implants are tilted so they can be longer and use more of the bone that is available. This can sometimes avoid a bone graft. A report in the NIH library describes it as another concept for restoring a fully edentulous arch with a fixed prosthesis, called the All-on-4 protocol. Not every patient has enough bone or the right bite for it. A related choice is an implant-supported denture. Your dentist will talk with you about all options. See dental implants, edentulism, and our page on full mouth rehabilitation.
